Youth Group
Who We Are
We are open to all students from 7th through 12th grades. We have students from Deal Junior High School, Wilson High School, School Without Walls High School, St. Ann’s Academy, The Heights School, St. John’s College High School, and Gonzaga High School, among others.

Meeting Information
We ordinarily meet the second Sunday of each month (except in the summer) from 6:15 – 7:45 PM, in the Msgr. Awalt Room in the Academy. We combine prayer, service and planning activities into each meeting, as well as fellowship through a shared meal of pizza or subs.

What We Do
The Youth Group combines Service, Prayer & Spiritual Growth, and Fellowship. We regularly make sandwiches for the homeless. In the fall, we rake leaves for seniors and shut-ins. In the winter, we shovel snow. (This is one way to satisfy your community service requirements for Confirmation). We help serve breakfast to the homeless at So Others Might Eat. Each year, we have a ski trip, usually in January, and during the summer, a trip to an amusement park – either Kings Dominion or Hershey Park. In the fall, we visit Butler’s Orchard for a hay ride and bonfire. Please consult our calendar for the upcoming events. We grow in our faith in many ways. This has included having regular guest speakers who address religious and spiritual issues. We have a great Lenten Retreat! We have had a Youth Mass and have participated in the Stations of the Cross during Lent. We also visit religious sites, such as the Franciscan Monastery and Catacombs, and enjoy films on our Catholic faith. We also “pitch in” to help at Parish events, including the Lenten Rice Bowl Dinner, “Souper Bowl Sunday,” and the Advent Food Drive. We also help the Northwest Center, which assists pregnant women and new mothers.

We are always looking for new ideas, so if you are interested in an activity, but do not see it on our calendar, please let us know and we will look into it!
