Aurelius Gori, Baritone
Hailed as “splendidly lyrical” by the Washington Post, Dr. Gori has appeared as a soloist and recitalist in Italy, in Austria as a Fulbright Scholar and in the Washington DC metropolitan area. He has been a featured soloist with the InterHarmony International Music Festival in Arcidosso, Italy, the North York Symphony in Toronto, Canada, and locally with the Washington Metropolitan Philharmonic in repertoire including Orff’s Carmina Burana, Vaughan Williams’ Sea Symphony and Five Mystical Songs and Duruflé’s Requiem. He also has appeared in recital many times with his wife, mezzo-soprano,
Grace Gori.
Maribeth Gowen, Piano
Ms. Gowen is a prize-winning soloist and chamber musician with many collaborations with singers. She has made concerto appearances with the Baltimore, Chattanooga, Alabama and Tucson Symphonies as well as the National Chamber Orchestra and the National Gallery of Art Orchestra. She has performed in many summer chamber festivals and concert series in this country and abroad. Recent seasons have included performances at the Phillips Collection and the National Gallery of Art, in Weill Hall at Carnegie Hall in New York, and in Muenster, Germany, Istanbul and Izmir, Turkey and the International Bellapais Music Festival in North Cyprus. Ms. Gowen’s teachers and coaches have included Nelita True, Menahem Pressler and the members of the Guarneri Quartet.
