Washington Council 224 of the Knights of Columbus is present here at St. Ann’s!
Founded on April 25, 1897, Washington Council is the oldest Knights of Columbus Council in the District of Columbia.
We have hosted Coffee and Donuts, held a Holy Rosary, been present for Msgr. Watkins’ 30th Ordination Anniversary, hosted Free-Throw Contests, collected Coats for Kids, provided scholarship opportunities with our sponsored Essay Contest, assisted with the John Mulholland Family Foundation Food Drive, beautified Holy Rood Cemetery in Georgetown, and more.
The Council meets on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month at 8:00pm via Zoom during the COVID-19 emergency. The Council Hall is located at 5034 Wisconsin Avenue NW, Suite 200, Washington, DC 20016. Msgr. Watkins, your pastor here at St. Ann’s, is the Chaplain for the Council.

Part of Washington Council 224’s ongoing Holy Hour Program, this event is a simple and meaningful way to delve deeper into one’s spiritual life and engage in a personal encounter with God. All are welcome to participate in this event – regardless of age, vocation, stage of life, or membership status. Knights of Columbus members from any council and any Catholic man who has ever considered membership in the Knights are especially encouraged to join their brothers in this impactful service.
A Holy Hour is a traditional Catholic devotion where time is spent reflecting in front of the Blessed Sacrament, which Catholics recognize as the “real presence of Christ” (Catechism of the Catholic Church, 1378).
