"I teach metaphysics and apologize for what some might deem too speculative for the issue at hand regarding human life. However, I would argue that this is exactly the kind of thinking (through the lens of scientific reason rather than religious faith – with all respect) which needs to re-emerge in the defense of human life – not to the exclusion of religious faith statements but in concert with them."
We continue to be humbled and amazed by the generosity of our parishioners! We can definitely say January’s Food Drive and Diaper Drive were a record collection for us! THANK YOU. Thanks also to the youth group that helped pack 71 meals for the homeless and organize donations.

St. Ann’s tours showcase our 73-year-old historic church, on its 150-year-old foundation, including our stained glass windows and marble life-sized replica of Michelangelo’s Pietà. As Sal mentioned on this tour: Come and visit us! Visit us also online at stanndc.org - all are welcome!
St. Ann’s Church was blessed nearly three years ago to receive a life-sized replica of the famous Michelangelo Pietà. Thanks to Rugo Stone, the statue now has a beautiful marble surround. Take a look in these photos and in our church the next time you visit us!
It is now time for Advent and a new liturgical year. The word Advent means coming toward or approaching. Click to read the pastor's full Advent reflection.
In light of the recent Supreme Court ruling which determined that an increase in restrictions for the number of worshipers in a church runs contrary to their First Amendment Rights, we have decided at this time to refrain from our initial instruction that parishioners would be required to sign up online for weekend Masses at St. Ann’s Church. This being said, we will continue the present practice of allowing no more than 100 persons in the church for Mass.
Thank you to all who contributed yesterday to our Contactless Fall Food Drive to benefit those in need! Thank you also to the Boy Scouts for staffing it. We collected 2,200 pounds of food!
In honor of the 5th anniversary of Pope Francis’s encyclical Laudato Si', which talks about care for creation, the youth of our parish planted 2 trees on the playground side of our parish!
