The general dispensation in the Archdiocese of Washington from the obligation to attend Mass has been lifted, effective the weekend of June 26-27. Click to read the official ADW statement.
For liturgical celebrations at our parish, starting Memorial Day weekend 2021, St. Ann observes these updated public health policies, following the Archdiocese of Washington guidelines, in accordance with District mandates regarding COVID-19.
After consultation with the Parish Council, we do not see a fair and sensible way to both limit attendance and provide sacraments to all. Therefore, regrettably, this limitation to 10 persons means that we are still not ready to reopen for public Masses.
Area Re-Opening Status as of May 22, 2020: You may have seen President Trump’s press conference this afternoon with his message asking governors and local government leaders to allow houses of worship to open. While this might influence when local jurisdictions move into a phase one that haven’t done so at this time, we are still required to follow the mandates of the local jurisdictions. We provide the current status of our local jurisdictions here below.
Due to the serious concern for public health at this critical time and a statement released yesterday by the Archdiocese of Washington, starting tomorrow, Saturday, March 14, all Masses at St. Ann Catholic Church are suspended until further notice.
