Habemus Papam! We have a Pope!

Cardinal Robert Prevost of Chicago, Illinois has been elected the 267th successor to St. Peter. He took the name Pope Leo XIV and his first words to the crowds at Saint Peter's Basilica were, "Peace be with all of you!" Pope Leo is a member of the Order of Saint Augustine, and he served 2 decades in Peru as a missionary and as bishop. He has a bachelor's degree in mathematics from Villanova University, a master's in theology from the Catholic Theological Union in Chicago, and a doctorate degree from the Pontifical College of St. Thomas Aquinas in Rome. He is the first pope from the United States.
